Kirkland was practically in Cassie’s backyard and she attended Middle School in the Houghton area and took Driver’s Ed just up the street from where the salon is located now. When Emily and Cassie were trying to decide where to open their lash business, Kirkland was the logical choice with many local connections and both of them were eager to explore all the dining options within walking distance. They love doing lashes on all their lovely clients then taking their lunch break somewhere within walking distance, often at Lai Thai or Hector’s Restaurant. They often have a hard time keeping themselves away from perusing rocks, gems and crystals at EarthLight, which is only blocks away. You can see many of their purchases adorning their salon. 

With eyelash extensions still being relatively new, it can be difficult to find a lash artist with ample experience. The popularity of lashes has propelled into mainstream culture just within the last decade making it an art that has fewer true experts than with other services in the beauty industry. Both of the owners at Lash Baby were employed elsewhere before starting their dream business in Kirkland together. This means that with the launch of Lash Baby, they were virtually starting fresh with their client base, giving new clients in Kirkland an opportunity to see them for lashes which may have been difficult in years past!
